Veterinary Procurement Manager Jobs (NOW HIRING)

We are looking for a dependable, hands-on Skull Cleaning Production Assistant & Procurement Driver to join our Processing Division. This position is a unique combination of production work, specimen handling, and local/regional pickup driving. The right person will be comfortable working in a processing environment that includes deceased animal parts, strong odors, wet work areas, and physically demanding tasks. The role also requires safe driving habits, route planning, and the ability to qualify for DOT certification.

About the Role

This position supports both our skull cleaning production process and our veterinary procurement routes. Duties may include assisting with skull and skeleton preparation, tissue removal, boil/maceration processes, specimen labeling, inventory handling, vehicle loading and unloading, and scheduled pickup routes.

This is a great fit for someone who is reliable, physically capable, mechanically inclined, and interested in hands-on work involving animal anatomy, specimen preparation, or taxidermy-style processes.

Key Responsibilities

Production Assistance

• Assist with skull and skeleton cleaning processes as directed by the Processing Division Manager.
• Help with boil, maceration, flensing, and other processing tasks as needed.
• Remove tissue from skulls and skeletons to prepare specimens for further processing.
• Assist with processing, packing, labeling, tagging, and shipping veterinary cadaver products.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production work area.
• Learn multiple areas of the production process in order to assist where needed.

Procurement Driving

• Plan and complete efficient pickup routes.
• Pick up inventory products along scheduled routes.
• Load and unload products, including items weighing over 100 pounds.
• Maintain basic records of truck mileage and deliveries.
• Monitor company vehicle condition and report service or mechanical needs.
• Safely operate a company vehicle for extended periods of time, occasionally up to 10 hours round-trip.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on production role in a processing shop. Employees are frequently exposed to chemicals, foul odors, wet or slippery floors, and deceased animal parts. Candidates must be comfortable working in this type of environment before applying.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and stay in motion throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, with reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to safely drive for extended periods of time.
• Ability to wear a back brace while moving inventory.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam and certification requirement within 60 days of hire.
• Smoking is not allowed inside company vehicles or while in transit.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be insurable to operate a company vehicle.
• Must be able to pass DOT physical exam and certification within 60 days.
• Ability to follow instructions without constant supervision.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good time management skills.
• Ability to work safely, efficiently, and professionally.
• Comfort working with deceased animal specimens and processing-related odors/conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous production, processing, taxidermy, or similar hands-on experience.
• Basic knowledge of animal anatomy.
• Experience with inventory handling or warehouse/production work.
• Previous driving experience
• Experience planning routes or making deliveries.
