Position Summary
This is an
hourly teaching position with responsibility for planning, preparation, and presentation of quality instruction and for otherwise contributing to the fulfillment of the college's mission. This position reports to the Program Director.
In most cases, part-time instructors will receive $625.00 per credit hour.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Instructs in the Veterinary Technology Program and evaluates student learning and outcomes.
2. Performs class and/or laboratory preparation.
3. Revise lecture notes and course materials to insure currency and compliance with departmental, divisional, and/or college formats or guidelines.
4. Participates in the regular evaluation of the VET Program, including self-studies and other activities to document program status.
5. Participates in curriculum development and evaluation and recommends new or revised curriculum as needed.
6. Promotes effective working relationships among VET Program faculty.
7. Performs institutional responsibilities and professional service which contribute to the fulfillment of the college's mission.
8. Follows institutional policies and procedures and fulfills the terms of one's employment.
9. Maintains professional competency in veterinary medicine.
10. Maintains professional licensure and participate in activities of professional organizations and in continuing education programs.
11. Adheres to accrediting agency requirements.
12. Performs division/program responsibilities.
Qualifications
1. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
required
2. Graduate of an accredited program of Veterinary Medicine
required
3. Appropriate license as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
4. Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
required
5. Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary education environment and familiarity with computer-based instruction
preferred

Compensation is based on 19 hours per week. If not indicated, the hourly rate will be determined by the supervisor.
