Troy, OH

Full time: Monday-Friday availability required-4-10-hour shifts-no weekends

We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to complete our team!  

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.

Experience & Skills Requirements: 

  • At least one year of recent experience in a veterinary practice environment, with increasing responsibilities is REQUIRED.
  • Demonstrated ability to show empathy toward clients and treat animals with respect and compassion. 
  • Ability to properly restrain patients.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately manage and record detailed information in medical records and other data management systems.  
  • Knowledge of spelling and meaning of commonly used veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in the time allotted without direct supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • A commitment to outstanding client service.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 40 pounds without assistance and objects weighing more than 40 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to stay on task and work energetically for an entire shift, sometimes exceeding 10 hours per day.
