Job description

Introduction
A privately owned small animal specialty hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Cardiologist to join its expanding team of specialists. This is an outstanding opportunity to practice independently while being fully supported by a collaborative, progressive, and compassionate hospital culture. The practice is moving into a brand new, state-of-the-art facility designed to elevate specialty medicine through advanced technology, exceptional staff support, and a focus on both patient and team well-being. With a strong internal medicine caseload and an established referral network, this role offers the opportunity to build and lead a thriving cardiology service in one of Arizona's premier specialty environments.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full time position based on a four day workweek, with the option of a three day schedule for experienced candidates. There are no on call, weekend, or overnight responsibilities, allowing for true work life balance. Appointment scheduling is structured for quality medicine and individualized patient care, with flexibility to adjust case length and flow as needed.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will lead the hospital's cardiology service, providing expert diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of patients with cardiovascular disease. You will collaborate closely with specialists in internal medicine, surgery, oncology, and dermatology, supported by a highly skilled technical team. This position is ideal for a cardiologist who values professional autonomy, evidence-based medicine, and a supportive culture that prioritizes excellence in both patient outcomes and client communication. You will have the opportunity to shape and expand the cardiology department, contribute to clinical growth, and work within a team that truly values collaboration and continued learning.

Practice Details
The hospital specializes in small animal internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, dermatology, and advanced surgical care for dogs and cats. An active internal medicine residency program and consistently high referral volume create a strong base of complex and engaging cases. The facility is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies including CT imaging, fluoroscopy, digital radiography, endoscopy and laparoscopy towers, two ultrasound machines, a Holmium laser for minimally invasive procedures, and fully equipped surgical and treatment suites. The new, purpose-built hospital will provide the ideal platform for developing a cardiology service that matches the highest standards of specialty care in the region.

Team
You will join a close-knit team currently comprised of two internists, one internal medicine resident, eight technicians, and seven additional support staff. The hospital culture centers on teamwork, respect, and professional growth, with an emphasis on mentorship, continuing education, and open collaboration between specialists. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a privately owned hospital that values innovation, independence, and a genuine passion for veterinary medicine.
