Job description

Veterinary Technician
Salary: $22 - $25 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications. $1,500 Sign On Bonus!
Schedule: Full-time and part-time positions available.
  • Part-Time (22.5-29 hrs/week): Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday
  • Full-Time (35-40 hrs/week): Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday

Shift times are as follows:
  • Monday - Wednesday: 1:30 PM - 9:30 PM
  • Friday: 1:30 PM - 7:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM

The Highlands Veterinary Hospital is hiring a full-time or part time Certified Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to our patients and exceptional service to our clients. Our ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, with a passion for improving the lives of pets and their owners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
  • Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates
  • Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
  • Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
  • Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of veterinary experience.
  • Surgical experience required.
  • Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
  • Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
  • Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
