Job description

General Practice and/or Urgent Care Veterinarian
Great Lakes Veterinary Clinic
Who We Are:
At Great Lakes Veterinary Clinic, our care is guided by purpose and compassion. We believe variety shouldn't come at the expense of burnout. Our team practices high-quality, dynamic medicine, blending the relationship-driven care of general practice with the pace and problem-solving of urgent care, all within a structured, supportive environment built to help our doctors thrive.
We're an animal hospital where veterinarians and staff join together to promote the health and well-being of every patient, guided by honest, open, and respectful communication between our doctors, staff, and clients.
Where You'll Be: Neenah, WI
Situated on the shores of Lake Winnebago, just north of Oshkosh and about 40 minutes from Green Bay, Neenah offers the perfect mix of small-town charm, natural beauty, and easy access to the Fox Valley. With a welcoming community, affordable cost of living, waterfront parks, scenic trails, and year-round outdoor recreation, Neenah is a great place to put down roots and enjoy a high quality of life. And for Football fans, the Green Bay Packers and Lambeau Field are just a short drive away, making it easy to enjoy the excitement of game days while still coming home to a friendly, close-knit community.

  • Modern, newly renovated facility: Practice in a comfortable, efficient environment designed to support high-quality care and continued growth.
  • Strong support team: A 5:1 support staff ratio allows you to focus on medicine and patient care rather than logistics.
  • Comprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match: Build toward your long-term financial goals with employer support.
  • Generous paid time off: Time away from work is encouraged and aligned with a strong commitment to work-life balance.
  • $2,400 Annual Lifestyle Benefit: Support the personal or professional interests that matter most to you.
  • Employee Assistance Program: Confidential support and access to expert resources for navigating life's personal and professional challenges.
  • Professional development: Robust opportunities including structured mentorship, clinical pathways, and doctor leadership programs.Continuing education support: CE allowance, dedicated CE days, and paid AVMA membership, state licensure, and DEA registration.
What You'll Do
  • Provide comprehensive, compassionate care for pets and their families across General Practice and Urgent Care.
  • See sick appointments, same-day cases, and urgent care cases that keep your skills sharp and your days dynamic.
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions using evidence-based veterinary medicine.
  • Work cases up fully with the time, diagnostic tools, and support needed to provide high-quality medicine.
  • Develop personalized treatment, preventive healthcare, and vaccination plans in partnership with pet owners.
  • Perform routine soft tissue surgeries and/or dental procedures based on your interests and experience.
  • Educate pet owners on treatment options, nutrition, and preventive care.
  • Build lasting client relationships through compassionate communication and medical expertise.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative hospital culture centered on teamwork, learning, and excellent medicine.
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • You are an experienced veterinarian with 2+ years of practice and a growth mindset
  • You have a passion for complex cases with a strong foundation in dentistry, surgery and ultrasound
  • You communicate with compassion and clarity, helping pet owners feel informed, supported, and confident in their pet's care.
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working closely with technicians and support staff to deliver excellent patient care.
  • You bring strong clinical judgment and attention to detail when diagnosing, treating, and interpreting medical findings.
