Job description

Legendary dining establishment 108 Taphouse & Burger Bar is seeking an experienced Line Cook. The Line Cook is responsible for setting up and stocking food items and other necessary supplies. The Line Cook prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.

Key cooking responsibilities include grilling, drying, sauteing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff to ensure that food comes out simultaneously. Food must be of high quality and served in a timely fashion. Duties and responsibilities include: Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment Check quality of ingredients Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.) Cook food in various utensils or grillers Ensure food is fully cooked before plating and serving to guests Create a great culinary presentation by dressing dishes before they are served Maintain a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen Ensure all food and other items are stored properly Perform inventory checks, complete food storage logs, and communicate any shortages to supervisorHigh School diploma or equivalent is required; diploma from a culinary school is preferred

Proven experience as cook and strong desire to learn and grow as a cook Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.) Ability to follow all sanitation procedures Ability to work in a team environment Ability to work different shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays when needed Must be reliable, customer service oriented and have very good communications skills Excellent physical condition and stamina Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.High School diploma or equivalent is required; diploma from a culinary school is preferred.
