Job title: Vertica Database Administrator

Work Location; Indianapolis, IN

Minimum years of experience required: 10+ Year of Experience with Vertica Database Certification

Job Description:

  • 10+ years of experience on Vertica database Administration
  • Well versed in DB administration in Vertica 8.x and 9.x including configuration, upgrades and Node management
  • Experience in DB2 (DPF), Hadoop would be added advantage
  • Experience in performance tuning and resolve bottlenecks in CPU, memory, disk I/O and network related issues
  • Perform database and query performance tuning and upgrades
  • Perform general technical troubleshooting and give recommendation to application team
  • Experience in Capacity Planning on database
  • Must have Shell Scripting experience and Agile environment is a plus
  • Experience in VMC tool
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills
  • Vertica database administration including configuration, upgrades and Node management
  • Experience in performance tuning and resolve bottlenecks in CPU, memory, disk IO and network related issue
  • Must have experience to work with analysts on partitioning, segmentation, partition swapping, and query tuning
  • Must have Shell Scripting experience and Agile environment is a plus
  • Experience in supporting Data Warehouse environments
