Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
  1. Maintain strict compliance with all applicable FAA regulations, commercial aviation industry safety standards, FBI guidelines and policies, industry standards, manufacturer's instructions, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, specifications, letters, and technical data.
  2. Perform all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, inspection and repair associated with the aircraft, engines, propellers, associated systems, and specialized mission equipment.
  3. Perform conditional, annual, phase and special inspections as required.
  4. Experience on the following aircraft desired: Gulfstream G550, Beechcraft King Air, Cessna Caravan 208, Cessna Stationair 206, Cessna Skylane 182, and Pilatus PC-12 NGX (Highly desired).
  5. Support the following maintenance requirements: Overhaul and repair, battery maintenance, sheet metal support, welding and fabrication, avionics and Specialized Mission Equipment support, aircraft ground handling and operations support, Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and maintenance support, aircraft servicing support (Refueling, Defueling, Engine Oils, Hydraulic Oil, Aviators Breathing Oxygen, Nitrogen and Other Compressed Gases, Chemical Toilets, Aircraft De-Icing and Cold Weather Operations, Aviation Life Support System, Perform fuel samples after refueling, Other necessary associated tasks as required), preservation/de-preservation, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) Control Support, Aircraft Tool Control Support, Precision Measurement Equipment support, Aircraft Maintenance Testing Support, Aircraft Maintenance Recovery Support, Operational Surge Support, Aircraft Enhancements, Safety, Hazardous Material Control Support, and maintenance reporting as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required; two-year technical trade school, military experience, or equivalent on-the-job training is required
  • Must hold a valid Airframe & Powerplant certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) & Inspection Authorization (IA)
  • Must have a minimum of seven years of hands-on experience as a Lead Mechanic.
  • Experience shall be in a similar position within the last twelve (12) months.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required DOJ Security Clearance as required.

KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Trained for the level of expertise required for performance under this contract.
Shall have as a minimum a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Power Plant (A&P), License with Inspection Authorization (IA) and seven (7) years' experience.
Consideration will be made and approved by CO, COR, and FBI Aviation Representative for military equivalence training and experience.
The Contractor shall provide proof of such licenses, certifications, and records upon request.
  • Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Install and operate rotor and propeller balancing equipment. (e.g. RADS, MicroVib, & Zing)
  • Ability to retain information and make decisions according to standard policies and procedures
  • Ability to determine work methods to accomplish assignments
  • Working knowledge of applicable FAA Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Ability to make proper entries in aircraft logs and records
  • Obtain a DOJ Security Clearance as required
  • Have and maintain a valid driver's state license
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

The employee works in an aircraft hangar the majority of the shift and is required to stand; walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Normal day to day working conditions are inside an aircraft hangar with good ventilation and airflow. Work may be regularly required in outside weather conditions where the employee will be exposed to all types of environmental conditions and extremes such as hot, cold, rain, wind, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment including eye protection, ear protection, hand protection, respirators, masks, aprons, leather safety shoes, steel toe shoes, fall protection harness, and other equipment anytime the potential for hazards exist. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places, confined spaces, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of radiation; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
