About this JobNorthwestern State University is currently accepting applications for the
Maintenance Repairer 1 position. This role supports the daily grounds maintenance operations of the University's nearly 900-acre campus. The Maintenance Repairer 1 helps ensure that the campus environment remains clean, safe, and visually appealing for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Minimum QualificationsOne year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR
Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Job Duties and Other InformationJob Duties:
- Perform general grounds maintenance, including mowing and trimming tasks
- Maintain landscaped areas, including flower beds, shrub trimming, and minor tree trimming
- Assist with basic irrigation system maintenance and minor repairs
- Empty exterior trash receptacles and assist with litter removal across campus grounds, including fallen limb pickup
- Operate tractors, mowers, and other grounds maintenance equipment for light grounds work
- Assist with nuisance wildlife management activities when necessary
- Perform pressure washing and other exterior cleaning as needed
- Complete other outdoor maintenance and grounds duties as assigned
