Job Description

A Vero Beach, Florida based client is seeking an exceptional Nurse Practitioner to provide compassionate patient care to all ages. An ideal candidate is motivated, collaborative, and works well in an interdisciplinary team. The ability to speak in Spanish, Creole, or both is a plus. 

Required Qualifications 

  • FL medical license as NP
  • FL DEA certificate 
  • ANCC or AANP Certification or Eligibility
  • CPR certification
  • 1 year of experience (3 years preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Functions independently and or with doctor’s assistance to perform age-appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs and orders appropriate laboratory and radiographic studies, recognize problems, establish a logical and differential diagnosis and develop a plan of care.
  • Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
  • Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Facilitates the patient’s transition within and between health care settings, e.g. admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
  • Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools
  • Nurse Practitioner needs to stay updated with the latest information about the medical facilities and processes and with documenting progress notes and assessments in EMR.
  • Promptly and accurately documents progress notes and assessments in Electronic Health Record to ensure up-to-date patient information.
  • Provides instruction and guidance to the nursing staff for carrying out various tasks.
  • May occasionally need to travel from one clinic to another for coverage.
