Booz Allen Ventures Associate

The Opportunity:

Booz Allen Hamilton Ventures, a $300M corporate venture capital fund, is seeking anAssociatetomanageinvestment opportunities, inform investment theses in key categories, and support fund leadershipwithdue diligence and fund operations. In this position, theAssociatewill project manage active deals through the investment process,conduct due diligence,andregularly meetwith founders and investors.

The Booz Allen Hamilton Ventures team will source, negotiate, and execute investments in earlycompanies, such as Seed though Series B, as well as follow-on rounds, consistent with the fund's investment strategy. The fund will focus on sectors aligned with Booz Allen Hamilton's innovation theses, such as Defense Technology,Data Science,Space,QuantumandDeep Tech, and targeted platforms, such as Cybersecurity andDefense Technology Group.

WhatYou'llDo:

  • Due diligence:Support all aspects of the deal review process, including quantitative analysis, such as financial modeling and sensitivity analysis, competitor and market scans, customer and investor interviews, and technology reviews.Will also support negotiations withinvestment targets.

  • Deal origination and screening:Identifyand source strong investment opportunities in key focus sectors, and review a high-volume of inbound pipeline to triage relevant opportunities

  • Market research:Perform in-depth research to support new and existing investment thesis development, including producing written research/analysis, sector presentations, white papers, and investment memos for the Booz Allen Hamilton Ventures team and Booz Allen Hamilton stakeholders.

  • Tool management: Manage internal pipeline and portfolio managementtools andcontribute to internal-facing reporting on portfolio health and investment theses. Coordinate with relevant internal teams, such as legal and accounting, through deal processes.

  • Portfolio engagement: Support commercial engagements, such as pilots, between portfolio companies and Booz Allen Hamilton in addition toutilizingBooz Allen Hamilton Ventures' collective networks to drive value for the portfolio.

  • Networking:Develop relationships with relevant founders, VCs, and corporate executives, along with key internal stakeholders, to support new investment and portfolio management activities.

  • Marketing:Help extend Booz Allen Hamilton Ventures' reach in key communities by hosting and attending industryevents andproducing written or audio/video content, such as podcasts.

You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or with a technology company

  • Experience conducting financial analysis, financial modeling, valuation assessments, and investment diligence activities

  • Experience evaluating technology companies, startup business models, market opportunities, and competitive landscapes

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and coordinating stakeholders across cross-functional teams

  • Experience developing written analyses, investment memoranda, presentations, or executive-level briefings

  • Knowledge of venture capital investing, startup ecosystems, and emerging technology markets

  • Ability to communicate effectively with founders, investors, executives, and technical stakeholders

  • Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative information to support business and investment decisions

  • Bachelor's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
