Job Description Summary:
Children of the Nations Volunteer Church Advocates are an incredible group of supporters who
connect their church to Children of the Nations at a deeper level. Whether getting your church
community involved in donations drives, sponsorship, or Venture Trips, you are helping more
children to be raised up to transform nations. Each member of this group connects COTN to their
church differently based on their particular gifts and the resources available.
Job Description Detail:
• Introduce Children of the Nations to your local church.
• Keep your church updated on the latest news from COTN, including first-hand stories from
the places we serve.
• Introduce your church to ways they can get involved in serving children: child sponsorship
events, Meal Packing Events, Venture Trips, donation drives, volunteer opportunities, and
more.
• Join a community of Advocates who care about helping children!
• Be equipped with tools, training, and ideas to help you connect COTN to your church.
• From meeting your local team to COTN leadership, become connected to the larger
ministry to children.
• Attend meaningful in-person and virtual events to get to know other Volunteer Advocates.
Volunteer Church Advocates add meaning to their lives as they help enrich the lives of their church community through helping children around the world. We believe connecting churches to our ministry is a mutually transforming experience for both the church and the children and is a way to live out Christ's call to love the poor, the hungry, the sick, and the stranger. As a Volunteer Church Advocate, you are tangibly living out the Good News.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Active member of your local church.
• Current COTN child sponsors are a plus but not required.
• Strong faith and dependence on Jesus Christ.
• Demonstrated and sincere interest in Children of the Nation's ministry.
• A commitment to serving children.
• Ability to invest 1 - 2 hours per week in the Volunteer Church Advocate Program.
• A friendly demeanor with an interest in reaching out to your church community about
supporting children.
• Faithfully uphold COTN in prayer.
• Strong commitment to uphold and support COTN's Mission, Vision, Core Values, Operating
Principles, and Code of Conduct.
• Advocates for our children, raising awareness of their needs and potential, and challenging
and enabling those within one's sphere of influence to greater involvement with COTN.
Please provide 2 professional and 1 church leadership reference.
