Job description

Manthei Wood Products is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Industrial Equipment Operator โ€“ 1st Shift to support our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for operating a variety of industrial production equipment, which may include lathes, knife grinders, debarkers, jointers, splicers, plywood presses, and other machinery. The ideal candidate has previous industrial equipment experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a hands-on approach to maintaining safety, quality, and productivity.

This is a full-time 1st shift position, Monday - Thursday, 5:00 am - 3:00 pm. Overtime opportunities may be available on Fridays and Saturdays based on production needs.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Safely operate a variety of industrial production machinery and equipment
  • Operate equipment which may include lathes, knife grinders, debarkers, jointers, splicers, plywood presses, and other production machinery
  • Monitor equipment and production processes to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Maintain consistent production speed and accuracy while meeting established quality standards
  • Inspect materials and finished products to ensure production requirements are consistently met
  • Make adjustments to equipment and processes as needed to maintain quality and productivity
  • Properly operate and care for machinery and equipment
  • Identify and communicate equipment concerns or maintenance needs
  • Work efficiently to increase productivity without compromising quality or safety
  • Work collaboratively with production team members to meet daily production goals
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
  • Attendance is a necessary job function
  • Follow all company safety procedures and immediately report safety concerns
  • Cross-train and perform other production-related duties as needed

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • Previous experience operating industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on approach to equipment operation
  • Foundational understanding of manufacturing and production processes
  • Forklift operating experience
  • Loader and excavator operating experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to safely operate machinery while maintaining required production levels
  • Ability to identify and communicate equipment or production concerns
  • Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to follow instructions, production standards, and safety procedures
  • Ability to regularly lift approximately 25โ€“50 pounds
  • Willingness to learn and operate multiple types of production equipment
