The IT Director, Vendor Management, is a senior leadership role responsible for building and leading Patrick IT's vendor management capability, including the design and standup of the Vendor Management Office (VMO), and for leading Patrick IT's software and hardware asset management function. This role is central to driving contracting efficiency, vendor rationalization, and disciplined spend management across Patrick IT's third-party ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Management Office (VMO) Standup & Leadership

  • Design and stand up Patrick IT's Vendor Management Office, including charter, operating model, governance structure, and staffing plan
  • Establish vendor management policies, standards, and lifecycle processes covering sourcing, contracting, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding
  • Build a centralized vendor inventory and segmentation model (strategic, tactical, transactional) to prioritize oversight and engagement effort
  • Define and operationalize the VMO's ongoing operating rhythm, including business reviews, reporting cadence, and escalation paths
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for VMO maturity, ensuring the function scales alongside Patrick IT's growth and acquisition activity

Contract Efficiency & Vendor Rationalization

  • Lead vendor negotiations and contract structuring in partnership with Legal and Procurement, ensuring favorable commercial terms and risk mitigation
  • Drive contract efficiency initiatives, including standardized terms, renewal management, and reduction of contract cycle times
  • Own the enterprise vendor rationalization program, identifying redundant, overlapping, or underperforming vendors for consolidation or exit
  • Deliver measurable cost savings and efficiency gains through contract renegotiation, vendor consolidation, and demand management
  • Define and implement vendor performance scorecards, SLAs, and performance improvement plans for underperforming suppliers
  • Establish vendor risk management processes, including financial health monitoring, cybersecurity risk assessment, and business continuity planning
  • Serve as an escalation point for vendor performance issues and contract disputes

Software & Hardware Asset Management

  • Own Patrick IT's software and hardware asset management function, including strategy, staffing, and operating model
  • Establish and lead enterprise asset management practices (SAM & HAM), including lifecycle management, license optimization, and cost control
  • Drive visibility, governance, and compliance across all software and hardware assets
  • Reduce technical debt and redundant systems through asset rationalization
  • Ensure asset data integrity and integrate asset management practices with vendor and contract management processes
  • Partner with Finance to ensure accurate asset capitalization, depreciation, and total cost of ownership reporting

M&A Vendor & Asset Integration Support

  • Support IT due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, assessing target company vendor contracts, licensing, and asset inventories
  • Lead harmonization of acquired vendor contracts and assets into Patrick IT's VMO and asset management practices
  • Identify and capture vendor and asset-related synergies through consolidation and standardization during integration

Financial Management

  • Own budgets related to vendor management and software/hardware asset management functions
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives across vendor spend, licensing, and asset investments while maintaining service quality
  • Support adoption of the total cost of ownership (TCO) model across Patrick IT, ensuring vendor and asset costs are accurately captured and reported
  • Improve financial transparency and predictability across vendor and asset-related IT spend

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead teams across vendor management and software/hardware asset management functions
  • Build a high-performing organization focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Develop talent and succession plans aligned with Patrick IT's needs

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 10+ years of relevant IT experience
  • 6+ years of leadership experience in vendor management, sourcing, procurement, or IT asset management
  • Demonstrated experience standing up or maturing a Vendor Management Office
  • Experience with software and hardware asset management practices (SAM & HAM)
  • Experience in decentralized, multi-site, or acquisition-driven environments preferred
  • Manufacturing or industrial sector experience is a plus
