Job description

The Strategic Supply Chain Lead will be responsible for the following:

Role: A Strategic Supply Chain Lead works with a team of purchasers to ensure to ensure all materials, consumables, andcomponents for manufacturing are ordered in a timely manner. They will lead the strategic growth and continuous improvement efforts with our supply chain, write purchase orders to vendors, review purchasing specifications, requestquotations, and work with vendors to streamline production. They willensure all required documentation for purchased items are accounted for andappropriately filed in our system to ensure compliance and traceability. Theywill work with our ERP system to ensure accuracy and accountability with ourpurchased items.

DutiesInclude:

  • Lead continuous improvement efforts in purchasing and procurement
  • Lead and guide the purchasing team to ensure efficiency
  • Handleinternal requests for purchased materials, tooling, services, or outsourcing
  • Managetooling and vending machine stock items as required
  • Handlescommunication to suppliers when obtaining, and negotiating pricing, timing, andquality
  • Followup with suppliers as required after P.O. is issued to make sure progress isbeing made and that delivery of purchased product or service will be on time
  • Communicatewith receiving on expected shipment deliveries
  • Assistwith receiving of purchased items as required, review compliance anddocumentation
  • Workwith quality department on any specific testing or inspection requirements onpurchased items
  • Manage any quality or timing related issues that occur at an outsource or servicevendor and communicate with Project Manager
  • Manage approved vendor list. Including allvendor information listed, including adding of new vendors
  • Assistwith compliance and regulatory needs as required
  • Manage periodic inventory counts and reconciliations

   Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School education or equivalent
  • Certification in manufacturing or purchasing consideredand asset
  • Certification or training in leadership
  • Mandatory that this role take part in acriminal record check and controlled goods screening

   Experience:

  • 5+ years of work experience in purchasing,preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience leading teams, preferably in a supply chain setting
  • Experience reading engineering andmanufacturing drawings an asset
  • Experience in the machining industry isconsidered an asset
  • Experience working in an ERP systems isconsidered an asset
  • Experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook isrequired

   Core Work hours:

  • 7:30am-4:00pm Monday - Friday
