We are seeking a Retail Route Merchandiser to represent Five Star across client locations by ensuring vending machines and micro-markets are fully stocked, clean, and visually appealing. You'll be the face of Five Star - delivering snacks, drinks, and fresh food that keep our customers happy while helping grow our business through excellent service and upselling opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver & merchandise products - Load, transport, and stock soft drinks, coffee, snacks, fresh food, and sundries at client locations; handle on-site billing and order verification.

  • Stock & rotate inventory - Replenish vending machines, micro markets, coolers, and shelves using FIFO; face product forward per plan-o-grams; remove items at or near best-by date.

  • Maintain food safety - Date and handle perishables correctly, ensure proper refrigeration, log and report temperatures that exceed safety thresholds.

  • Clean & service equipment - Sanitize vending and market equipment; perform minor repairs (filters, brewer heads, bulbs, receipt paper); report out-of-service machines to management.

  • Manage cash & records - Collect cash/coins, accurately record all transactions on delivery tickets and handheld devices, and reconcile inventory per company SOP.

  • Support customers & promotions - Resolve service complaints, set up promotional displays, and communicate new products or services on behalf of management.

  • Ensure safety & compliance - Follow DOT regulations, company safety and loss prevention guidelines; report theft, vandalism, unsafe conditions, or shortages immediately.

  • Operate & maintain assigned vehicle - Complete daily pre-trip inspections, keep vehicle and storage areas clean, use assigned fuel card properly, and report maintenance needs.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Must be able to consent to a drug screen and pre-employment background check.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the route.

  • Must be 21 to meet DOT requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Merchandising experience.

  • Route/ DOT experience.
