Location: Winter Haven, Florida

Cardinal Equipment Services is looking for a Remanufacturing Technician I based out of our Winter Haven location. We're currently looking for Monday through Friday, working 6:30AM to 3:00PM.
Job Summary:
The Remanufacturing Technician I, plays a critical role in restoring coolers, vending machines, and related equipment by performing diagnostics, disassembly, cleaning, repairs, and reassembly across multiple departments. The role begins with evaluating each incoming unit in Triage, identifying mechanical or cosmetic issues, documenting findings, and creating accurate work orders that guide the entire remanufacturing process. Technicians rotate through areas such as Pre-Work, Wash Bay, Panel, Body, and Paint, using various tools and techniques to prepare equipment for each stage of production. From deep cleaning and component prep to panel replacement, bodywork, and paint preparation, the technician ensures that every unit is fully restored to quality standards. This position is essential to maintaining equipment reliability, supporting customer satisfaction, and keeping production operations running efficiently.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The overall responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Work across multiple departments including Triage, Pre-Work, Wash Bay, Panel, Body, and Paint to support the full refurbishment process for coolers and vending machines.
  • Perform initial diagnostics in Triage by inspecting incoming units, identifying mechanical and cosmetic issues, documenting findings, and creating work orders.
  • Test machine functionality, including cooling performance and lighting, and determine required repairs and parts.
  • Remove grills, clean lower machine components, and assess doors, panels, and exterior surfaces for damage.
  • Pressure-wash units in the Wash Bay to remove dirt and debris and prepare equipment for repair.
  • Disassemble machines to clean individual components, not just exterior surfaces.
  • Replace damaged side panels or branded panels in the Panel department, ensuring proper fit and alignment.
  • Perform bodywork on units with dents, scratches, or surface defects by sanding, applying body filler, and refinishing surfaces.
  • Prepare units for painting and load machines onto the paint line for spray application to restore exterior finish.
  • Maintain accuracy, safety, and quality standards while working efficiently across multiple production areas.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools, including screwdrivers and drills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and shift between tasks or departments based on daily production needs.

  • Must wear personal protective equipment as required and comply with all safety policies.
  • Follow all prescribed safety and security measures to protect associates and company assets.
  • Regular and prompt attendance as an essential job function.

Work Environment:
  • Work performed on cement floors in a warehouse environment.
  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperature conditions, including heat, cold and humidity.
  • Noise levels are typically moderate to high due to machinery, powered industrial equipment, and general warehouse operations.

Physical Requirements:
  • Repeated sitting, standing on cement floors, walking, pushing/pulling, lifting, carrying, up to 35 lbs.
  • Frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, twist, reach, grasp, and make repetitive hand movements in the performance of daily duties.
  • Continuous bending, kneeling squatting, grasping, reaching, fine manipulation and exposure to chemicals and noise.

Work Requirements:
