Job description

PAY RANGE: $15.00 - $22.00 / hour

Compensation is determined based on your experience and qualifications.

In addition to base pay, you may be eligible for overtime, commission, performance-based increases and bonuses.

The Transportation Specialist is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting agronomic crop production input and energy products and supplies to various locations. This role requires a driver with a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) committed to safety, customer service, and timely deliveries.

The Transportation Specialist will also assist with loading and unloading products, ensuring accurate and secure transport, and maintaining vehicles in excellent working condition. The ideal candidate will have experience driving commercial vehicles, a solid understanding of crop production input and energy products, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport production ag and energy products to designated locations.

Ensure timely and accurate delivery of production ag input and energy products to customers, following all applicable laws and regulations.

Assist with the loading and unloadingof production ag input and energy products, ensuring they are securely fastened and properly stored.

Verify the accuracy of delivery orders and manage documentation such as delivery receipts and logs.

Perform routine inspections and maintenance of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.

Report any mechanical issues or damage to the vehicles promptly and coordinate repairs as needed.

Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding the operation of commercial vehicles.

Follow company safety policies and procedures, including properly handling and transporting hazardous materials.

Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with customers, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction with deliveries.

Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents during transport.

Submit reports and documentation as required by the company and regulatory agencies.

Required Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma or equivalent.

Obtain a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with required endorsements (e.g., HazMat, Tanker) within six months of employment and maintain a clean driving record.

Follow safety and compliance standards to help ensure their well-being and the safety of others.

Previous experience in agronomy or energy transportation is preferred.

Knowledge of safe handling and transportation of crop production input and energy products, including hazardous materials.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.

Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as required for loading and unloading.

The role involves physical labor, including lifting and moving heavy products.

Basic mechanical skills for vehicle maintenance and inspections.

This position requires driving for extended periods and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
