What Are Vehicle Relocation Jobs?
Vehicle relocation jobs involve working to transport vehicles from one place to another. In these jobs, you may be responsible for shipping new cars to a dealership, returning rental cars to a rental agency, or moving fleet vehicles between business locations. In some cases, you deliver a personal vehicle to an owner after they move to a new place. Your responsibilities can vary depending on the type of auto relocation in which you specialize. In addition to driving the vehicle, your duties include documenting delivery and recording variables like mileage.

What is the difference between Vehicle Relocation vs Vehicle Delivery Driver?
| Aspect | Vehicle Relocation | Vehicle Delivery Driver |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Driver's license, possibly commercial license | Driver's license, standard or commercial |
| Work Environment | Transporting vehicles over long distances, often across states or countries | Delivering vehicles directly to customers or dealerships within local or regional areas |
| Employer & Industry | Auto transport companies, vehicle relocation services | Car dealerships, rental companies, private clients |

Vehicle Relocation involves transporting vehicles over long distances, often for dealerships or private owners, requiring specialized knowledge of vehicle handling. Vehicle Delivery Drivers typically deliver vehicles locally or regionally, focusing on customer service and timely delivery. Both roles require valid driver's licenses, but Vehicle Relocation may need additional certifications for long-haul transport. Understanding these differences helps job seekers find the right position in the vehicle transportation industry.
