Job description

Manager II-Maintenance
Mativ is a global leader in specialty materials headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia. The Company offers a wide range of critical components and engineered solutions that connect, protect, and purify our world.
Mativ's Neenah Converting Center is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our dynamic team where your experience and efforts make a difference. This position will report to the Operations Manager and is located in Neenah, WI.
The incumbent will provide technical and managerial direction, guidance and council to develop and achieve the desired costs, quality and performance objectives. This position provides technical expertise to support the Plant and equipment projects as required, manages the necessary functions and provides leadership for the entire Maintenance Department.
responsibilities:
Exercise personal leadership that demonstrates safety as a core value and forms the foundation on which we make all decisions and perform work. Personal safety leadership is a requirement of the position.
  • Responsible for the safety performance and overall results in areas of responsibility.
  • Promote hazard recognition and incident reporting of all types (near miss, first aid, property damage, etc.) in areas of responsibility.
  • Consistently hold others accountable for safety policy and rule compliance. Timely coaching, documentation, and appropriate action will be taken when non-compliance issues arise.
  • Demonstrate safety leadership by actively seeking purposeful safety interaction with ALL employees in areas of responsibility.
  • Responsible for the periodic communication of open work orders with an emphasis on those related to safety, including items that contribute to process or property losses.
  • Responsible for the completion of all DSRs, training material creation/updates, lock-out procedures and employee training as assigned, prior to commissioning of new or altered equipment.
  • Responsible for timely completion of all items assigned on the Velocity EHS Action Register.
  • Responsible for leading all Incident Investigations (safety, quality, process loss) in areas of responsibility, using appropriate investigation techniques and comprehensive reporting.
  • Responsible for ensuring 100% compliance on pre-use inspections, LOTO, Confined Space, Line Break, and Hot Work for all employees supervised.
  • Responsible for ensuring 100% compliance on all regulatory items within areas of responsibility.

Maintenance Operations
  • Responsible for incorporating Operational Excellence into the Maintenance departments day to day activities and long-term improvement efforts.
  • Develop specific annual strategies to improve maintenance spending and labor efficiency.
  • Maintain and communicate maintenance efficiency metrics that are measured by a combination of leading, proactive indicators driving lagging performance metrics (costs).
  • Develop and maintain a robust preventative maintenance system that is designed and prioritized based on equipment criticality.
  • Develop a sustainable program for Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) as the vehicle for identifying preventative work, contingency plans, and to ensure risks are managed.
  • Fully utilize EAM to ensure maintenance execution and efficiency through to cost performance by tracking, managing, and modifying work system.
  • Support the development and integration of operator-driven inspection that are designed to proactively prevent breakdown caused by equipment deterioration or abnormalities.

Enhance organizational development
  • Manage with a high level of balanced accountability.
  • Show definitive leadership in the development of employee skills and talents with respect to the development of succession planning.
  • Participate in cross functional teams to share best practices and improve performance of all assets.

Preferred qualifications:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • 6-10 years of experience in a manufacturing/plant environment preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years in a supervisor or managerial capacity
  • Applicable relevant maintenance and engineering experience will be considered as well.
  • Predictive/Preventive maintenance experience desired.
  • CMSS/EAM utilization and experience preferred.
  • MRO/Stores inventory management knowledge.
  • Leading metrics development and continuous improvement experience required.
  • Previous maintenance supervisory experience in extrusion plant operations is preferred.
  • Strong controls aptitude and PLC troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills required; Oracle is a plus.
