The Role

The Operations Manager oversees the physical back-end operations of the business, including the systems, resources, and standards that allow our technicians to operate efficiently and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Primary Responsibility

The Operations Manager works closely with department managers, dispatchers, and field personnel in a fast-paced, process-driven environment. This role leads a team responsible for operational readiness, company assets, facilities, fleet, and inventory while developing team members through training, accountability, and continuous improvement to support company growth, efficiency, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.

Key Tasks

  • Customer Experience
    • Organize and manage back-end operations to support a smooth and efficient workflow.
    • Ensure technicians have the tools, materials, and support necessary to deliver outstanding service.
  • Cost Control & Asset Management
    • Ensure materials, equipment, and inventory are accurately tracked, processed, returned, and accounted for.
    • Ensure we are purchasing materials from the correct vendor at the best price
    • Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.
  • Technician Efficiency
    • Support field personnel by ensuring equipment, inventory, and resources are readily available.
    • Remove operational obstacles that reduce productivity.
  • Professional Appearance & Organization
    • Maintain professional standards across company trucks, warehouse facilities, equipment, and work areas.
    • Ensure company assets reflect a positive image of the organization.
  • Warehouse & Inventory Management
    • Oversee receiving, stocking, replenishment, and organization of inventory.
    • Manage special-order parts, returns, warranties, and purchasing
    • Maintain inventory accuracy within the warehouse and service vehicles.
    • Refine and enforce inventory control procedures.
  • Fleet Management
    • Oversee vehicle stocking, inspections, maintenance, repairs, and compliance requirements.
    • Ensure all fleet vehicles are safe, properly equipped, and operational.
  • Parts Delivery Coordination
    • Manage and coordinate the delivery of parts and materials to job sites as needed.
    • Ensure technicians receive critical materials in a timely manner.
  • Tools, Portable Equipment & Asset Tracking
    • Manage the issuance, tracking, return, and maintenance of company tools and equipment.
    • Oversee portable A/C units, heaters, and other company assets.
    • Coordinate repairs and replacement of damaged equipment.
  • Facilities Management
    • Coordinate building repairs, upkeep, and preventative maintenance.
    • Manage waste disposal, recycling, scrap materials, and overall facility organization.
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Lead, train, coach, and develop designated team members.
    • Establish clear expectations and maintain accountability.
    • Promote professional growth and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Coordination with Dispatch & Management
    • Work closely with dispatchers and department managers to support daily operations.
    • Ensure parts, materials, and equipment are properly staged, delivered, and returned.
    • Facilitate communication between departments to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Process Improvement
    • Evaluate existing workflows and identify areas for improvement.
    • Develop, implement, and train team members on efficient processes and best practices.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse, fleet, and operational functions.
Experience Needed
  • Operations leadership experience with the ability to manage people, processes, resources, and competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills balancing operations, administrative responsibilities, and real-time problem solving.
  • Effective communicator able to collaborate across dispatch, training, call center, and leadership teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills focused on improving processes, controlling costs, and increasing productivity.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment, using data to improve performance and exceed goals.
  • Commitment to continuous growth, training, and development.

  • This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, with hours based on business needs.

Compensation

  • $65,000 - $80,000 commensurate with experience and/or aptitude.
