Job description

POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Recon Team is tasked with the effective and successful oversight of operational functions within Recon. This role involves performing duties as the Gatekeeper, ensuring delivery routes are properly departed through scheduled checks, collecting pre-con paperwork, providing recon backup, conducting recon training, and adhering to recon and end of day driver check in through operational procedures and guidelines. Additionally, this role includes communicating daily recaps to the Operations Manager for the location. The Recon Team Lead is responsible for assisting the Operations Manager in safe and efficient operations.
DESCRIPITION OF PHYSICAL TASKS
Frequently (50%+ of time) required to walk and talk or hear. Occasionally required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel object, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

Occasionally (less than 25% of time) exposed to moving mechanical equipment and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Frequently (more than 50% of time) travel throughout the GDH sites. Occasional (less than 25% of time) weekend and/or overtime work, primarily at start-up or when taking on new business.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
  • Leadership Guidance : Supports the Operations Manager by providing clear guidance and motivation to the Recon Department. Ensures all duties are performed according to departmental guidelines through open and clear communication and maintains a commitment to align employee work with the training outline.
  • Gate Keeper : The Recon Team Lead will assume the role of Gate Keeper, which involves several critical tasks. These include verifying load outs, ensuring the completion of pre-trip vehicle inspections using the Samsara App, collecting daily load outs, and attaching route cover sheets. Additionally, the Gate Keeper is responsible for collecting and submitting blind count sheets, as well as reviewing Samsara DVIRs for any reported damages. This role also entails reporting vehicle safety concerns to the Operations and Delivery Manager.
  • Recon : As the Recon Team Lead, you will perform various duties within the recon department. These include covering for absent Recon Personnel, assisting the Operations Manager with training all recon personnel, organizing daily route paperwork and office tasks, and ensuring the accuracy and accountability of recon procedures and daily tasks.
  • Operational Procedures and Protocol : Collaborates with the Operations Manager to ensure operational policies, programs, and processes for the location are consistently administered incompliance with organizational objectives and local laws. This includes, but is not limited to, processes, methods, equipment, and materials.
  1. Arrives on time for the first departing routes
  2. Removes and collects all locks from departing routes.
  3. Conducts a general inspection of the vehicle for any unreported damage.
  4. Verifies that the driver has completed a "Safe" pre-trip vehicle inspection through Samsara.
  5. Inform the Operations and Delivery Managers of any "Unsafe" vehicle violations before departure for cross-load.
  6. Confirms that the loadout matches the driver and/or helper listed and makes necessary updates.
  7. Verifies "Blind Counts" against the Master count sheet with the driver and reports any discrepancies to the Operations/Warehouse Manager. Submits to the Loss Prevention Team.
  8. Ensures the driver has the necessary equipment for the daily route, including safety cones, load bars, plastic wrap, and printer paper.
  9. Maintains and enters the Driver Loadout Code.
  10. Collects load-out for each route.
  11. Responsible for completing the Route Cover Sheet and attaching the Load-Out.
  12. Review all Post-Trip Vehicle Inspections for any reported vehicle damage from the previous day. Report findings to the Operations and Delivery Manager.
  13. Review the Recon End of Day Daily Recap.
  14. Ensures that the Bank Deposit Summary Report aligns with the Recon Daily Report (Excel). Addresses and corrects any discrepancies in collaboration with the Operations and Reconciliation Team.
  15. Verify that all missing or variance DSDs and customer short pay tickets have been created using the Beverage and Kace system.
  16. Review the Trial List to ensure there are no DVR invoices on any routes. Completes regular recon audits.
  17. Ensure the closure of all submitted House routes for 96, 99, 95, and 99.
  18. Ensures general maintenance and cleanup of the office is performed.
  19. Performs all work activities in accordance with safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
  20. Performs all other duties as assigned.
  21. Responsible for auditing driver check-in procedures through the ๏ฟฝRoute Control Specialist.
  22. Review's route check-in errors on all returning products, ensuring its being organized and separated as good, damaged, close dated and OCD. Report findings to the Operations and Delivery Manager.
  23. Reviews driver load-ins to ensure product overloads, and route equipment is being accounted for on the load-in during check-in procedure.
  24. Reviews the Route Control Specialist is performing duties within the job description and SOP.
  25. Reports findings to the Operations Manager.
  26. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Preferred leadership industry-related field required.
  2. Knowledge of transportation Inspection
  3. Prior use of VIP or similar software package.
  4. Highly organized, detail oriented.
  5. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
  6. Demonstrated ability to:
