Responsibilities
The Used Vehicle Manager oversees all aspects of the used vehicle department, including appraisal, acquisition, reconditioning, merchandising, and sales performance.


Key responsibilities include
  • Appraise, purchase, price, and manage all used vehicle inventory with a disciplined, marketbased strategy.

  • Lead, train, and develop the sales team to ensure strong product knowledge, process execution, and customer engagement.

  • Conduct daily lot walks with the sales team to ensure full awareness of inventory, pricing, merchandising, and lot presentation.

  • Drive department sales goals and maintain accountability for performance metrics.

  • Meet and greet customers early in the sales process and remain actively involved throughout the transaction.

  • Determine tradein values and purchase terms with accuracy and transparency.

  • Secure financing for customers through established lender relationships, including special finance and subprime programs.

  • Ensure all used vehicles are properly reconditioned, frontlineready, and merchandised to company standards.

  • Maintain competitive market valuations using tools such as vAuto and auction platforms.

  • Manage auction buying and selling strategies to optimize inventory turn and gross performance.

  • Collaborate with service, sales, and finance leadership to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications
  • Proven track record of success in a highvolume dealership environment.

  • Deep experience in auction buying/selling, including digital and inlane strategies.

  • Advanced proficiency with vAuto and other inventory management tools.

  • Strong background in special finance/subprime deal structure and lender relations.

  • Exceptional CSI performance and commitment to customer satisfaction.

  • Previous automotive sales management experience required.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and teambuilding skills.

  • Acceptable driving record and valid driver's license.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; must be 18 years or older.

  • Must pass preemployment screening; we are a drugfree workplace.
