JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use computerized diagnostic tools and visual inspections to identify mechanical problems in vehicles. This includes checking engine performance, electrical systems, and other critical components
- Once issues are diagnosed, mechanics repair or replace faulty parts and systems. This can involve working on engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
- Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake services, and engine tune-ups to ensure vehicles remain in optimal condition
- Communicate with customers to explain repairs needed, provide estimates, and advise on maintenance procedures. This includes keeping customers informed about new technologies and repair techniques
- Perform safety inspections mandated by state regulations to ensure vehicles meet safety standards
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and services performed, which is essential for tracking vehicle history and ensuring compliance with regulations
- Train and mentor junior mechanics or apprentices, sharing knowledge and skills to enhance the overall competency of the team
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have three years of experience as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic in Fleet Maintenance or Fleet Vehicle Management
- Must be able to pass a National Criminal History Check (NCHC)
- Have a current ASE Certification
- Have a valid Driver's License
- Have a Class A Commercial Driver's License
EDUCATION:
- Minimum of a high school diploma
EXPERIENCE:
- Have three years of experience as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic in Fleet Maintenance or Fleet Vehicle Management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- US Air Force Experience in Vehicle Fleet Management at USAF Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC) or Redhorse Training Location
