Job description
- Perform comprehensive interior inspections for fit, finish, trim, electrical components, and accessory functionality.
- Conduct exterior inspections for body damage, paint defects, alignment issues, and overall condition.
- Verify proper installation and operation of lights, accessories, and visible mechanical components.
- Inspect exterior paintwork for defects, damage, or irregularities in accordance with manufacturer standards.
- Accurately complete CAL check sheets, inspection reports, and required documentation in an efficient and thorough manner.
- Document and clearly communicate findings, including severity of damage or defects.
- Coordinate directly with manufacturer representatives as required to review findings and ensure compliance with standards.
- Work collaboratively with operations and detailing teams to report and track issues identified during inspection.
- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., with possible overtime and/or weekend work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid US Driver's License
- Obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Badge) issued by the Department of Homeland Security
- Experience operating automatic and straight (manual) shift vehicles.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document findings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior vehicle inspection, quality control, or automotive industry experience.
- General knowledge of automobile components and basic vehicle systems.
- Ability to make sound judgment calls regarding severity and classification of defects.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear and concise documentation and feedback.
Physical Working Attributes:
- Work in confined spaces
- Work at heights of approximately 15 feet.
- Lift, push, and or pull up to 20lbs
- Extended periods of standing, kneeling and bending
- Exposed to all outdoor elements including heat, cold, rain, insects, and other conditions, which may exist from time to time.
