Job description

CFD Engineer
  • We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated CFD Engineer to support vehicle aeroacoustics assessments
  • You will be responsible for the CFD simulation and analysis to identify noise sources and optimize designs to minimize noise
  • This role will work closely with the test team to ensure the necessary data are collected for model validation, correlation, and engineering solution development
  • This position will also partner with NVH team on analyzing noise propagation into the cabin and its impact on occupant perception
  • Candidates with an aerodynamics background are strongly preferred
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Conduct CFD analysis to evaluate aerodynamic noise performance for passenger vehicles and accessories
  • Work with test engineers to define required measurements and collect data needed for model validation
  • Partner with NVH engineers on cabin noise modeling and prediction
  • Correlate simulation results with wind tunnel and/or vehicle test data
  • Identify root causes of wind noise issues and propose feasible design improvements
  • Support development of noise-reduction solutions for roof racks, exterior accessories, and related components
  • Communicate technical findings to cross-functional engineering teams
  • Travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%)
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
  • Master's or PhD in Automotive engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in automotive in automotive, aerospace, or similar industry
  • Proven experience with CAD tools (e.g. CATIA, Siemens NX), CAE preprocessing tools (e.g., ANSA, Hyperworks), CFD solvers (e.g., Powerflow, Star CCM+)
  • Experience with aerodynamic noise source identification and propagation modeling
  • Vehicle aerodynamics background is preferred
  • Solid understanding of vehicle aerodynamics, aeroacoustics or flow-induced noise
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a data-driven, analytical approach
  • Strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment
