OVERVIEW

Veeco's Precision Surface Processing (PSP) business is expanding production to meet record demand for advanced wet processing systems that enable state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing. As a Manufacturing Technician on our 1st shift team, you'll take on advanced assembly, troubleshooting, and leadership responsibilities for complex capital equipment used in next-generation chip fabrication and advanced packaging. This is an ideal role for a skilled builder looking to increase ownership, mentor others, and make an impact at a company shaping the future of semiconductor technology.

1st Shift Schedule is 7:30am - 4:00pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assemble and integrate complete semiconductor process tools including frames, precision mechanical systems, wiring harnesses, and fluid delivery lines in accordance with engineering requirements.
  • Interpret and execute from mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and fluid system diagrams to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Troubleshoot complex assembly issues in real time, collaborating with engineering to resolve problems quickly.
  • Lead subassembly efforts or coordinate entire tool builds as required; assign tasks, maintain build schedules, and resolve material or documentation bottlenecks.
  • Support and occasionally lead the tool power-up process to ensure full operational readiness prior to handoff.
  • Document builds thoroughly for traceability, ensuring adherence to Veeco quality standards.
  • Model and enforce safety compliance, including lockout/tagout and all plant protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade education strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience building or assembling electro-mechanical systems, preferably in capital equipment or semiconductor environments.
  • Availability to work 1st shift (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM) with overtime flexibility.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency with Swagelok and flare fittings, stainless steel tubing, and high-purity plumbing assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex schematics across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing domains.
  • Experience with small gauge wire termination, crimping, and cable routing preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD/software tools like SolidWorks and Excel; comfortable using ERP systems for build tracking.
  • Leadership aptitude to guide less experienced technicians and maintain system build flow.
  • High attention to detail and ability to produce reliable, high-quality builds under limited supervision.
  • Physically able to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs; able to work overtime as needed.


Salary and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $42,896-$63,341, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
