SUMMARY:

Vector Security is seeking a Commercial Sales Representative responsible for developing new business relationships and delivering commercial security solutions to customers within the local market.

In this outside, field-based sales role, you will build and manage a pipeline through prospecting, networking, and in-person meetings with business owners and decision makers. You will present security technology solutions including alarm systems, video surveillance, and access control while preparing proposals and sales agreements that support recurring revenue and long-term customer partnerships. Successful representatives cultivate relationships with existing customers while identifying and securing new commercial opportunities.

By delivering solutions that protect people, property, and operations, representatives play a key role in helping customers feel secure while growing their own income through performance-based earnings.

What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible for selling Vector’s commercial solutions and achieving bookings, recurring revenue and profit margin targets by proactively scheduling sales appointments with current and prospective commercial customers and ensuring offerings meet the needs of both Vector and the potential customer.
  • Maintains in-depth product knowledge via ongoing training and required certifications. Educate customers about various commercial solutions including but not limited to video, intrusion, access control, and fire alarm systems. 
  • Continuously generates commercial proposals and maintains a viable pipeline equal to at least 4 times monthly sales quotas. All proposals are tracked in the company’s CRM platform for management visibility. 
  • Works closely with commercial system design team and branch operations to ensure proper scope is defined for large commercial installations. 
  • Create strategies to market products to new consumers, including identifying new target market segments/opportunities. 
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc. 

What You’ll Need:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Prospecting Skills: 
    • Must be comfortable initiating conversations with homeowners and potential customers face-to-face

    • Proven ability to generate new business through strategic prospecting, networking, referrals, and targeted outreach

    • Experience identifying and pursuing new logos within defined verticals or territories

    • Comfortable leveraging LinkedIn, industry events, referral networks, and outbound engagement to build a robust pipeline

    • Self-directed in building and managing a pipeline of qualified commercial opportunities

  • Previous Sales Experience required.
    • 3+ years of sales experience

    • Background in solution-based, service-based, or technical sales environments preferred

    • Industry experience in security, access control, CCTV, intrusion systems, or related fields is a big plus but not required 

  • Presentation Skills: 
    • Ability to conduct consultative needs assessments and present tailored, integrated solutions

    • Comfortable presenting to business owners, facilities leaders, property managers, and executive decision-makers

    • Skilled at communicating technical concepts in a clear, business-focused manner

  • Closing Skills: 
    • Proven ability to close complex commercial opportunities and consistently meet or exceed sales targets

    • Skilled negotiator with experience navigating competitive sales environments

    • Strong follow-through from proposal development through contract execution

  • Valid Driver's License required
