Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled VDI Support Specialist to join our IT team. This role is pivotal in supporting and maintaining our virtual desktop infrastructure, with a strong focus on Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who excels in managing virtual environments, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, security, and standardization.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Design & Support: Assist in the design, development, and support of the virtual environment to ensure robust and secure operations.
  • Environment Administration: Maintain multiple virtual images within Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, managing updates, optimizations, and security patches.
  • Image Optimization: Independently identify, propose, and implement updates to virtual images to enhance security, ensure standardization, and improve performance.
  • Upgrade Management: Plan and execute virtual image upgrades across development, testing, and production environments with minimal operational disruption.
  • Tier 2 Support: Provide advanced technical support for issues related to the virtual environment, ensuring efficient resolution of complex problems.
  • Change Management: Document, publish, and track all changes to virtual images, ensuring clear communication across the IT Support and Applications teams.
  • Training & Documentation: Develop and deliver training sessions and technical documentation for the Tier 1 IT Support team.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
