Member Service Representative / Teller

Location: Memorial Branch, Houston, TX 77079

Employment Type: Full Time

Work Hours: Branch Hours: Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm; Saturday: Rotational 8:30am – 2:30pm.

Description:
HFCU is looking for an outgoing personality to assist members and guest members with their financial transactions. This individual will assist the Teller Supervisor in day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities:

  • Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments. Act as vault teller as needed.
  • Sells money orders, gift cards, and processes cash advances for members and guest members.
  • Maintain and balance a cash drawer daily.
  • Helps schedule and monitor daily teller activity.
  • Help train new employees and monitor performance. Ensure department is providing friendly, professional, personal service to all members.

Expectations:

  • Ensure drawer is balanced daily.
  • Assist members and guests in all functions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Strive for posting accuracy, and to provide administrative support as assigned.
  • Help maintain cohesive staff sufficiently to meet daily department needs.
  • Provide informed and professional assistance to all members and associates.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • One year to two years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school diploma or GED required.
  • Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements to this job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
  • Must be computer literate with excellent communication skills.
  • Must be accurate with numbers and names.
