Job description

Opportunity:
Propel Schools is seeking an Assistant Girls Varsity Basketball Coach for the 26-27 season starting this winter:
  • Propel Andrew Street High School/Propel Braddock Hills High School
  • Propel Montour High School

Successful candidates will have:
  • Prior Varsity or Junior Varsity coaching experience
  • Preferred candidates will have experience as a head coach or assistant coach, playing experience, as well as the demonstrated ability to build a successful program starting at the varsity level
  • Responsibility for supporting the Varsity program with the assistant coach, athletic director and other coaching staff
  • Experience implementing off-season programs in accordance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations.
  • Willingness and ability to attend all required PIAA preseason coaching meetings and mandatory coaching certification/trainings in compliance with PIAA regulations.
  • High level of personal organization and planning
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development
  • A commitment to the Propel Habits

Season Information:
  • The 2026-2027 Girls Varsity Basketball Season is scheduled to begin in November and is anticipated to conclude in February, although the season may end earlier/later depending on if the team participates in postseason.
  • This position includes a seasonal stipend of $3,000. Please note that the stipend will be prorated for coaches who begin after the official start of the season.

  • Up-to-date TB Test
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Act 114 FBI Clearance
  • Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance
  • Mandated Reporter Training
