Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Outpatient Clinic | Government Contract
Location: Tricare Prime Clinic - Chesapeake, VA
Job Type: Full-Time | Contract
Schedule: Flexible | Days, Weekends & Holidays
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support outpatient clinical services at Tricare Prime Clinic Chesapeake. In this mission-essential role, you will provide high-quality care to military members and their families in a collaborative, fast-paced healthcare environment.
Schedule & Work Hours
  • Clinic Hours: Monday - Sunday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Varied shifts based on clinic needs
  • Typical shift length: 8-12 hours
  • Weekend and holiday shifts required
  • The clinic is open on all federal holidays
  • 30-minute unpaid meal break for shifts over 6 hours

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of a State Board-approved LPN/LVN program or equivalent military training
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of LPN experience in outpatient, ambulatory, or acute care within the last 2 years
  • Licensure: Current, active, and unrestricted LPN/LVN license (any U.S. state or territory)
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in an outpatient clinic setting
  • Perform patient intake, triage, and vital sign collection
  • Administer medications, immunizations, and IV therapies
  • Assist providers with exams, procedures, and diagnostic testing
  • Monitor and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
  • Educate patients and families on care plans and follow-up instructions
  • Support clinic workflow, patient flow, and care coordination

Work Environment
  • Outpatient military healthcare clinic
  • Team-based care with physicians, RNs, and clinical staff
  • Use of electronic medical record systems (AHLTA/CHCS)
  • Fully onsite role (no telework)
