Job Description
Seeking an Electronics Assembly Technician who will be responsible for soldering components to a PCB following NASA and IPC standards. The candidate will primarily be responsible for the use of the pick and place machine and component preparation operations. The candidate may perform prepping of components (tinning, resistor measurements, verify kit), wire attachment, component staking, or masking for conformal coating to an engineering drawing and manufacturing traveler. Conformal coating and foaming experience along with cable and harness build is a plus. Pick and place and Vapor Phase experience is a highly desired quality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assemble parts into repetitive and non-complex units or subassemblies, utilizing hand tools and soldering iron.
  • Will require some use of voltmeters, scales, holding fixtures, bench tools, automated and manual soldering equipment and special fixtures.
  • Assembly operations are typically performed under a stereo microscope.
  • Follow written/oral instructions from process engineers, manufacturing engineers, and supervisor.
  • May prepare and assemble PC boards, perform component preparation, Dispense / Apply adhesives, and utilize various tools to perform mechanical assembly.
  • Inspect work to ensure that it meets all requirements.
  • Comply with and support all department and corporate policies and procedures included but not limited to Safety, Security and ESD.
  • Inspect product at various stages of process.
  • Read, interpret and follow detailed work instructions and assembly drawings.
  • Work with and learn from more experienced technicians in areas such as complex mechanical assemblies, soldering, harness routing, inspection, in-process testing, precision cleaning, and structural fabrication.
  • Use precision measurement tools, ensure components meet specified tolerances while adhering to general best shop practices, including PPE and shop safety requirements.
  • Follow 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness protocols, lift and carry up to 30lbs
  • Collaboration with team members to achieve production goals will also be a key part of your responsibilities.

Qualifications
  • Certifications: Active or past solder certifications to IPC J-STD-001 (Space Addendum) is required and/or must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Experience: Candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in Must have at least 1 years of experience in SMT/Pick in Place.
  • Technical Skills: Candidate must be proficient with both precision mechanical tools (calibrated torque wrenches, calipers) and hand-soldering equipment under a microscope for extended periods.
  • Education: A High School Diploma or GED is required.

Additional Information
Compensation: Base pay range is $26-28/hour, depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
Shift: Hours are 6am-3:30pm Monday-Friday, with alternating Fridays off (9/80 schedule)
