Job description

Overview:

Under the general supervision of the Head Golf Professional, the Golf Shop Sales Associate is responsible for collecting appropriate fees, taking reservations, and assisting in merchandise sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist customers on the phone and in person, with processes and questions providing an exceptional customer service experience and promoting Park District services and facilities.
  2. Monitor safety of golf patrons.
  3. Collect appropriate fees.
  4. Reserve tee times.
  5. Assist in general maintenance and cleanliness of clubhouse.
  6. Assist in presentation and sale of merchandise.
  7. Assist related staff with special duties assigned by Head Golf Professional.
  8. Demonstrate and support District customer service standards.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist related staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of the operations of golf courses and facilities.
  • Ability to display professionalism with patrons.
  • Possess excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to address complaints and resolve concerns.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer software. Ability to learn new software.

Special Considerations:

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Subject to both office and outside environmental conditions.
  • Subject to modified/flexible work schedules during high volume work periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and/or move objects weighing ≤ 30 lbs on a daily basis. Lifting assistance is required when lifting > 30 lbs.
  • Regular onsite attendance is an essential function of this position.
