Specific Assignment: Operator for 8 Passenger Van, M-F AM and PM, & 5 Weeks in Summer (Position has flexible hours 20-25 hrs//wk) Posting #:27-78 The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District is committed to providing each student with a high quality, relevant education that promotes academic success, well-being, and responsible citizens. We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our team and to realize that mission. Position Objective: The Van Driver safely transports students to and from school and school-sponsored activities in accordance with all state laws, FLRSD policies, and safety regulations. The driver ensures that all passengers are treated with respect, maintains proper student conduct on the vehicle, and supports the district's commitment to providing reliable, timely, and secure transportation services that promote student well-being and access to education. The driver would operate an eight-passenger van for morning and afternoon school runs. Responsibilities: Maintain confidentiality of student information at all times Safely and promptly transport students to and from assigned schools and programs Perform daily vehicle and equipment safety checks; report issues to the Transportation Coordinator Maintain cleanliness of both the interior and exterior of the vehicle Ensure the vehicle is fueled and ready before beginning assigned routes Operate the vehicle in compliance with all Federal and State traffic laws and district regulations Complete required daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, mileage, and student logs Secure students and equipment using appropriate restraints, seat belts, or car seats to ensure safety Assist students with entering and exiting the vehicle safely as needed Manage and address student behavior appropriately; report concerns and incidents to the Transportation Coordinator Release students only to authorized individuals and verify with the transportation office when uncertain Perform additional duties as assigned by the Transportation Coordinator Required Qualifications: Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check Citizenship, residency, or work visa in the United States Current 7-D License High School Diploma Experience w/ Special needs Students Experience as a van/bus driver First Aid & CPR Certified Salary & Terms of Employment:In accordance with the Van Driver Salary Schedule as specified in the Freetown-Lakeville Regional Schools Van Drivers' Conditions of Employment, Salary Range: $21.49 - $22.55 an hr.
