Job description

About Re:Build

At Re:Build, our mission is to ensure the next generation of important products are made, at scale, in America. We are laying the foundation for a better future for our customers, employees, and communities by revitalizing America's manufacturing base and creating meaningful jobs across the country, including in historically deindustrialized regions.

We operate an advanced, end-to-end manufacturing platform that partners with industrial companies and innovators to take products from first concept to full-scale production in critical verticals including aerospace and defense, electrification, medical, energy and environment, and robotics and automation.

The way we operate is as important as the work we do. It's guided by The Re:Build Way, 16 principles that shape how we collaborate with each other, partner with our customers and vendors, and contribute to the communities where we operate. (link to The Re:Build Way principles)

**Who we are looking for **

Are you an experienced operational leader who thrives on running and improving a diverse, high-mix manufacturing environment? As the Value Stream Lead for our Industrial & Specialty Products operation at Oribi, you'll take the lead as the senior operational leader accountable for the overall outcomes, profitability, and ongoing advancement of the value stream. You'll manage every aspect of the value stream — aligning production, engineering, quality, and supply chain operations across established manufacturing lines — with a focus on cutting waste, optimizing flow, and consistently delivering safety, quality, and on-time performance. You'll direct operational strategies that balance the flexibility and changeover demands of a higher-mix, lower-volume product base while driving continuous improvement throughout the plant. Success in this role requires a hands-on leadership style, deep knowledge of machining processes, methods, equipment, and tools, and proficiency in Lean manufacturing methodologies. You'll direct production supervisors, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, and technicians, and work closely with sourcing, engineering, quality, and Lean teams to meet the evolving needs of our customers.

** What you get to do **

  • Lead the ongoing development and execution of the strategic plan to run and grow the Industrial & Specialty Products operation, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and industry-standard processes while running daily operations including production, maintenance, quality, and logistics to guarantee on-time delivery to customers
  • Ensure a zero-incident culture by implementing safety protocols, regulatory requirements (OSHA, FDA, etc.), and environmental compliance
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and mentor a high-performing team across production, quality, supply chain, and engineering to build an accountable, results-driven culture
  • Champion Lean principles (Value Stream Analysis, Rapid Improvement Events, SMED, 5S, etc.) to eliminate non-value-added activities and reduce waste in a high-mix, low-volume environment
  • Monitor and improve key metrics such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), productivity, scrap, and labor efficiency, using Basic Problem Solving and Root Cause Countermeasure methods
  • Own the value stream's budget and P&L, implementing cost-reduction strategies and managing labor, overhead, and operating expenses to achieve financial targets
  • Own production scheduling and the management of material forecasts to ensure material availability, optimize inventory, and support reliable on-time delivery
  • Partner with Sourcing/Supply Chain, Technical, Quality, and Commercial teams to advance process flow and align manufacturing capabilities with established customer requirements and emerging industrial market demands
  • Optimize and enhance existing manufacturing processes, automation strategies, and quality control systems to ensure high-yield, cost-efficient production across established lines
  • Stay at the forefront of emerging machining technologies and manufacturing advancements to continuously strengthen the value stream's competitiveness

**What you bring to the team **

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in machine shop management; experience with composite operations is a plus
  • At least 3 years holding a leadership role in a sophisticated manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing high-mix, low-volume production and/or diverse product portfolios preferred
  • Solid understanding of machining manufacturing
  • Background and experience in Lean production
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and talent development skills
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities and critical thinking
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
