Position Summary:
Associate Specialist, Value Stream Cryo Operations is responsible for the cryopreservation, movement, storage, and control of patient materials used in manufacturing, as well as support of liquid nitrogen storage tanks and equipment at the CAR T manufacturing facility in Summit, NJ. Responsibilities include cryopreservation, storage, inventory control, chain of custody, and material tracking.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for cryopreservation and management of including:
  • Responsible for cryopreservation and management of patient materials, including processing, storage, transfer, distribution, and disposal.
  • Maintains sample tracking and chain of custody in compliance with GMP requirements and written procedures.
  • Ensures expired or obsolete materials are disposed of according to approved procedures.
  • Performs sample queries, inventory tracking, and periodic storage reporting.
  • Supports investigations, deviations, and CAPA closure activities related to cryopreservation and sample processes/cryopreserved materials.
  • Executes manual and electronic batch records in accordance with cGMPs, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Maintains on-time execution of cryopreservation and logistics activities aligned with production schedules.
  • Manages LN2 storage inventory and supports daily cryopreservation operations.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to improve processes and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Ensures accurate, complete, and compliant documentation in line with GDP requirements, resolving errors promptly.
  • Partners with management to ensure adequate training and readiness of personnel.
  • Operates effectively in a team-based, cross-functional environment and applies problem-solving with minimal supervision.
  • Supports flexible scheduling, including overtime and staggered shifts, as required by business needs.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree

OR
  • Associate degree or Medical Technical degree with 0-2 years of manufacturing or operations experience

OR
  • High School diploma/GED with 2-4 years of manufacturing or operations experience

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Knowledge of cGMP and FDA-regulated environments
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • General understanding of cGMP requirements
  • Technical writing capability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with inventory control and management
  • Background in biology, chemistry, or medical/clinical practices is a plus

Compensation Overview:
Summit West - NJ - US: $31.90 - $38.65per hour
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
