Position Overview
dormakaba is seeking a Global Lead - Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE) based hybrid in our Indianapolis, IN manufacturing facility. The Global Lead - VAVE is responsible for developing, deploying and managing the VAVE department on behalf of dormakaba globally. The Global Lead - VAVE will establish and maintain standardized practices within the department across all product clusters with a target to identify & implement material cost reduction opportunities.
They will drive continuous improvement into planning tool suite in support of ongoing new product development projects and programs and present the project results to leadership teams and foster the collaboration of VAVE teams across dormakaba.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $160,000 - $185,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) What you will do
  • Lead cross-functional VAVE initiatives by coordinating matrixed Program Management and Engineering resources to achieve cost reduction and value improvement objectives
  • Develop and manage contractor and supplier relationships that support enterprise and product-line VAVE initiatives
  • Create and implement scalable VAVE processes, methodologies, and tools from opportunity identification through production launch
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, financial savings targets, and reporting processes to ensure progress toward annual business goals
  • Partner with Procurement, Operations, Quality, Product Development, Product Management, Master Data Management, and other functions to identify and execute VAVE opportunities
  • Provide regular executive-level reporting on initiative status, realized savings, pipeline opportunities, risks, and support needed to achieve objectives

What we require
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related Engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 10+ years of engineering and operations experience, with expertise in process development/deployment in operations, engineering or a mix and continuous improvement
  • Strong technical knowledge of cross-functional engineering processes, related tools and interfaces, including Procurement, Product Development, and Operations
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally

  • Professional proficiency in both English and German
  • Demonstrated success leading Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) or cost optimization programs in a global manufacturing environment
  • Experience with electromechanical products, hardware, access control, security solutions, or other engineered products
  • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design-to-Cost (DTC), Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
