Job Responsibilities

  • Manage, review, and deliver real estate valuation engagements for financial reporting, tax compliance, transaction support, regulatory reporting, and management planning purposes.

  • Perform and review valuation analyses utilizing appropriate methodologies, including income, cost, and market approaches.

  • Review third-party appraisal reports and valuation analyses in support of audit and financial reporting engagements.

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor analysts and senior analysts by providing technical guidance, reviewing work product, and supporting professional development.

  • Review financial models, valuation assumptions, and supporting analyses to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with professional standards.

  • Work closely with Directors and Partners to manage engagement scope, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the valuation process and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Assist in the development and enhancement of valuation templates, methodologies, and practice resources.

  • Collaborate with other service lines to identify cross-selling opportunities and deliver integrated solutions to clients.

  • Manage key engagement metrics, including utilization, realization, and project profitability.

  • Participate in business development activities, including networking, proposal support, and referral source development.

  • Contribute to a positive team environment while maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, accounting, finance, real estate, economics, statistics, mathematics, or engineering.

  • Minimum of 5 years of real estate valuation experience within a valuation firm, public accounting firm, consulting firm, or real estate appraisal firm.

  • Relevant valuation designation(s) MAI, ASA, CPA, CFA, CEIV, CVFI, ABV, or CVA

  • Prior experience effectively resolving external review issues, including auditor, regulatory, or third-party appraisal review comments.

  • Experience managing real estate valuation engagements and serving as a primary point of contact for clients.

  • Experience performing and reviewing valuation analyses utilizing the income, market, and cost approaches.

  • Ability to develop external relationships (networking, referral sources, etc.) and contribute to business development initiatives.

  • Experience supervising, mentoring, and reviewing the work of valuation professionals.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality solutions on time and within scope and budget.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of real estate valuation experience.

  • Prior experience with a national valuation firm, Top 20 public accounting firm, or national real estate appraisal practice.

  • Experience reviewing appraisals in audit review capacity.

  • Strong experience in real estate appraisals for financial reporting purposes.

  • MAI designation.

  • Experience mentoring and developing valuation professionals.

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. For Colorado residents, the compensation range for this position: $115,100 - $156,900. For Washington residents, Illinois residents, New York residents, and Southern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $126,700 - $172,600. For Northern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $132,400 - $180,400. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location. Eligible employees at certain levels can participate in a discretionary long-term financial incentive plan, subject to plan participation rules.
