Overview
The Quality Intern will support the Quality department by analyzing the company's current warranty process from end to end. This role will be responsible for documenting how warranty claims are currently handled, identifying inefficiencies and bottlenecks, benchmarking against best practices, and recommending ways to streamline and improve the process - including the possibility of a new system or tool for managing warranty claims going forward.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze the current warranty process from claim intake through resolution and closeout
  • Map the existing workflow, identifying each step, system, and stakeholder involved
  • Review historical warranty data to identify trends, recurring issues, and cycle-time drivers
  • Identify inefficiencies, redundant steps, and manual work that could be streamlined or automated
  • Benchmark current practices against industry standards for warranty management
  • Evaluate current tools and systems (e.g., Smartsheet, ERP, QMS) used to track and manage warranty claims
  • Research and recommend potential new systems, software, or process changes to improve efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather input and validate findings
  • Document proposed process improvements, including workflows, templates, and criteria
  • Provide weekly progress updates to the Quality Manager

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Strong analytical, process-mapping, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with process improvement concepts (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis) is a plus
  • Comfortable working with data in spreadsheets or quality/business systems
  • Ability to work independently, ask clarifying questions, and communicate findings clearly
  • Interest in manufacturing, quality systems, or process engineering
