Job description

Join our Team as a Reliability Engineer!
The Role:
We're looking for a passionate and innovative Reliability Engineer who brings both technical expertise and a forward-thinking mindset. In this role, you'll design and implement new test equipment, methods, and tools - helping shape the future of energy solutions. We value innovative and creative ideas-yes, even during meetings (where snacks are always welcome). If you enjoy tackling challenges with positivity and a bit of humor, you'll feel right at home here.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Design and build new test equipment to expand testing capabilities, including creation of related documentation.
  • Develop test software (e.g., LabView) to support emerging test needs and improve automation.
  • Set up test systems and development hardware safely and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate test equipment to ensure high-quality data and repeatable results.
  • Partner with engineering teams across ESS to ensure testing strategies align with evolving development programs.
  • Support prototype system builds, ensuring parts are assembled accurately and on schedule.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to batteries, fuel cells, and associated systems.
  • Deliver projects on time and contribute to the overall growth and capability of the team.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in testing or validation engineering roles.
  • Hands-on knowledge of data acquisition systems and test instrumentation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical data and project objectives.

What Sets You Apart:
  • Comfortable collaborating with colleagues from a range of technical and non-technical backgrounds.
  • Creative problem-solver who enjoys designing solutions where no template exists-especially for emerging energy storage technologies.
  • Strategic mindset that considers not just current testing needs, but how to evolve and scale systems for future projects.

Where and When You'll Work:
  • This is an in-person role located at our Rochester, New York office-ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:
Salary - $83,340 - $135,975 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate's education and experience.
Relocation: This role may be eligible for relocation assistance.
World Class Benefits:
  • Competitive Salary
  • Performance Bonus
  • Generous Paid Time Off and 13 Paid Holidays
  • Affordable Medical plans and no-cost Dental & Vision options
  • 100% 401(k) match up to 6%
  • Company-Paid Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability
  • Tuition Assistance Program
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with access to mental health care, legal support, and financial guidance
  • Recognition and Kaizen (continuous improvement) Reward Programs
  • Meaningful opportunities for personal and professional development
  • Best in class work culture!
