What the Role Delivers

The Senior Accountant – International is responsible for ensuring accurate statutory accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting for multiple legal entities across the globe. This role partners closely with International Accounting and Finance Shared Services to deliver timely month-end closes, insightful financial analysis, and strong internal controls in a complex, multinational environment.

Based in Valencia, this position supports several international entities and works closely with regional leadership and corporate headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Month-End Close

  • Perform statutory accounting and month-end close activities for multiple international entities
  • Prepare and analyze balance sheet, P&L, and margin results
  • Coordinate reconciliations and close activities with Corporate Accounting and Shared Services

Tax & Statutory Compliance

  • Manage Corporate Income Tax, VAT, WHT, and other local tax reporting requirements
  • Ensure timely filing of statutory accounts and local regulatory submissions
  • Act as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors
  • Tax package reporting, reconciling pretax income from USGAAP to statutory and Tax books to determined current and deferred income tax

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes for the region
  • Prepare management reports, variance analyses, and financial insights for stakeholders

Treasury & Internal Controls

  • Monitor cash requirements and support funding and liquidity planning
  • Support internal controls, segregation of duties (SOD), and audit requirements
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and mitigate financial risks

Stakeholder Interaction

  • Corporate Accounting and Finance Shared Services
  • Sales, Customer Service, and Procurement teams
  • External auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities
  • Regional leadership and corporate finance teams

What the Job Requires

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a multinational environment
  • Strong knowledge of statutory accounting, tax, and US GAAP
  • Advanced Excel skills and solid SAP experience
  • Fluent in English and Spanish

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with BlackLine or similar financial close tools
  • Portuguese language skills
  • Prior exposure to international legal entities
