  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
    • Required:
      • Strong customer service skills
      • Prior experience in IT support with a focus on both hardware and software
      • Experience with ChromeOS, Microsoft Windows, and macOS
      • Strong teamwork and communication skills
      • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
      • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
      • Strong desire to learn new technologies and processes

  • Summary/Objective
    • The Desktop Support Specialist will provide friendly, customer-service-oriented IT support to staff and students. This role primarily involves basic troubleshooting and resolution of hardware and software issues in a mixed IT environment that includes Google Chrome OS, Microsoft Windows, and Apple macOS infrastructures, along with some audio/visual equipment.
      • Familiarity with the following is a plus:
         
        • Google for Education / Google Workspace
        • Microsoft Intune and Entra
        • Windows Server
        • Jamf
        • Spiceworks
        • Networking protocols, including networked printers
        • Valcom paging systems
        • VoIP / SIP systems
           

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • In this role, you will:
     
    • Serve as the primary point of contact while delivering friendly, customer-service-focused support to staff and students
    • Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical hardware and software issues with Chromebooks, laptops, desktops, tablets, and other office systems
    • Install, maintain, and repair hardware and software components
    • Contribute to creating and maintaining documentation for our knowledge base
    • Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor or campus leadership

    • Ability to sit for long periods of time, numerous distractions, visual, auditory and ambulatory acuity important
    • Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds
