Job Description

We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Research Lab Associate II to join our dynamic dermatology research team in Detroit, United States. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the design, execution, and analysis of dermatological research studies while upholding the highest standards of laboratory practice and scientific integrity. Working collaboratively with senior researchers and cross-functional teams, you'll contribute meaningfully to advancing our understanding of skin health and disease mechanisms.   • Conduct laboratory experiments and procedures following established dermatology research protocols and standard operating procedures with precision and attention to detail
  • Prepare, process, and analyze biological samples including tissue specimens, cultures, and clinical samples while maintaining comprehensive documentation
  • Collect, organize, and accurately document research data using laboratory information systems and electronic records to ensure data integrity
  • Perform quality assurance checks and maintain detailed records to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and research protocols
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation, performing routine calibration and preventive maintenance as needed
  • Assist in the design and execution of clinical research studies, including patient recruitment support, informed consent coordination, and systematic data collection
  • Analyze research data using appropriate statistical methods and prepare clear, comprehensive findings for reports, presentations, and publications
  • Manage laboratory inventory efficiently, order supplies proactively, and optimize workflow to ensure seamless operations
  • Collaborate with research team members to identify technical challenges, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency
  • Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols, biosafety standards, and regulatory compliance requirements at all times
  • Support the preparation of research documentation, study protocols, regulatory submissions, and audit-ready records
  • Communicate findings and observations transparently with team members and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and innovation
Qualifications

**Required Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related scientific field
  • 2+ years of hands-on laboratory experience in a research, clinical, or pharmaceutical setting
  • Demonstrated proficiency in standard laboratory techniques and scientific methodology
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting procedures, preparing reports, and collaborating effectively with team members
  • Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with statistical software packages
  • Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory safety standards, biosafety protocols, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team
  • Meticulous attention to detail with unwavering commitment to data accuracy and scientific integrity
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities with a proactive approach to identifying solutions
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining standard laboratory equipment and instrumentation

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Previous experience in dermatology research, clinical dermatology studies, or skin-related research
  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and electronic data capture systems
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and HIPAA regulations
  • Experience with histopathology techniques, skin tissue analysis, or immunohistochemistry
  • Exposure to clinical trial protocols, procedures, and regulatory documentation
  • Proficiency with advanced analytical instrumentation and specialized laboratory equipment
  • Experience in quality assurance, regulatory documentation, and audit preparation
  • Certification in laboratory safety, phlebotomy, or clinical laboratory techniques
  • Experience with patient interaction or clinical research coordination
  • Familiarity with dermatological conditions, skin biology, or cutaneous research methodologies
