Job description

Taylor Construction Equipment distributes multiple lines of construction products with a passion for product, service, and support. TCE supports the construction industry with reliable equipment.

This incumbent will provide support and assistance in the upkeep and readiness of all equipment for sale or rental at the Bessemer, AL Facility. This includes cleaning and fueling of machines to put them on the 'ready line'. Making sure that all equipment is ready for the customer and has the correct attachments and work tools. The incumbent will be trained and educated in preventive maintenance of all equipment, operational trouble shooting as well as providing customer support on demonstrations and product training.

The Equipment Support reports directly to the TCE Product Support Manager but will assist all the TCE employees and customers in providing world-class customer support. In all duties, the Equipment Support will promote and enhance the company's image by maintaining a neat personal appearance and by helping to keep the TCE in neat and orderly condition. The incumbent will be courteous to the customer and the customer's employees and the incumbents' work habits will include initiative and a positive attitude.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Keep equipment clean, fueled, and ready to be rented or sold to TCE customers.
  • Keep equipment exercised weekly to make sure they operate and start on demand.
  • Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections and receive reports on when equipment is delivered from the manufacturers.
  • Inspect and complete reports when equipment comes back from rental.
  • Assists mechanics in installation of attachment and machine tools.
  • Delivery of equipment locally, provide operation instructions upon delivery.
  • Participate and learn from mechanics how to perform preventive maintenance and simple fixes.
  • Become an operational expert to help with demo equipment and new customer hand-offs.
  • Other duties assigned by management.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Valid driver's license and good driving record to be insurable by corporate insurance carrier.
  • Must meet physical demands of job which includes stooping, bending, climbing, twisting, and capability of lifting up to 50 lbs or occasionally 60 lbs.

Education and Experience:

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Must have natural mechanical abilities. Mechanical work experience or training preferable.
