Job description

Warehouse Supervisor I at DICKEY-john
Is responsible for coaching, teaching, training, facilitating and removing barriers to enable work teams to perform at optimal levels. Responsible for planning and directing the activities in shipping, receiving, and the stock room. and providing vision, coaching and development opportunities for team personnel. Applies world class techniques in the pursuit of continuous improvement for process, quality, customer service, and environment, while ensuring the assigned areas meet all TSI quality requirements, at the lowest cost and in a timely manner.
What Will You Do?
  • Proactively identify and implement continuous quality and cost improvements as it relates to distribution.
  • Prepares work schedules, assigns work and oversees the work product.
  • Establish metrics for on time delivery and accuracy.
  • Develop and manage a cross functional Inventory Cycle Count Accuracy team.
  • Ensure that there is cross training going on in the department.
  • Coach and develop members of the department
  • Set and communicate expectations for employees; monitor performance and give recognition when appropriate. Take corrective action when necessary. Recognize employees for performance which meets or exceeds objectives.
  • Utilize quality management techniques for problem solving, corrective action and process decisions.
  • Research, justify, procure and implement new technology to maximize department effectiveness and profitability.
  • Work in conjunction with the Demand Planning and Fulfillment Manager to establish annual goals and objectives for the department to achieve (annually) in alignment with company strategic goals.
  • Responsible for assisting in the development of policies with respect to production management.
  • Work cooperatively with other departments in addition to influencing decisions and outcomes that result in solid business practices for the company.
  • Establish and maintain department budgets including capital improvements.
  • Work as a team with Production supervision to improve overall operational performance.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in technical or business-related area is required.

Experience
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, transportation, or logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, or stock room management
  • Supervisor experience is preferred, but not required
  • Experience with SAP or another ERP system
  • CPIM
  • Logistics and Export compliance knowledge
  • 5S experience

Work Environment & Physical Demands
Work is typically performed in a standard office setting working at a desk or table on a level surface. Air quality and noise levels are within normal limits. Eye protection is usually not required. Under normal conditions, exposure to excessive noise, dust, humidity, and fumes is rare. Individual may be required to work more hours than normally expected during a regular workweek depending on workload and deadline requirements.
Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work.
Travel
Minimal travel is expected for this position.

Pay and Benefits: Competitive market salary from $66,000 - $75,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company. Benefits include:
