Electro-Mechanical Assembler, AFTERNOON SHIFT

Job Location: Waterdown, ON

Schedule: 9/80 - Afternoon shift

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Perform electrical/mechanical assembly on sub-assemblies to required quality and quantity outputs
  • Perform rework/repair on Printed Circuit Boards including THT and SMT hand soldering
  • Perform  rework/repair on Wire Harness Assemblies
  • Perform some optical assembly by fitting, cleaning and testing

Desired Skills and Knowledge 

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9000, AS 9100
  • Knowledge/Certification of IPC 620, 610, 7711, 7721 an asset
  • Knowledge and understanding of Electrical schematics and assembly drawings
  • Thorough understanding of techniques in the use of hand tools, soldering, crimping, wire routing, mechanical assembly and hazardous materials covered under WHIMIS
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills that translate to working in a team environment
  • Mechanical aptitude for assembling major Electrical/Optical components
  • Hands-on experience in cable and harness assembly
  • Experience with THT and SMT soldering techniques
  • Mechanical assembly experience is an asset
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing

Education and Experience 

  • Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills.
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.  Community College Diploma in Electronics
