Birch Mountain Enterprises is looking to hire CAT-VAC Operators for our client site, for seasonal work. Must be TDG knowledgeable, with wiggle wagon operating experience, minimum class 5 license.  MUST BE LOCAL OR HAVE YOUR OWN ACCOMMODATIONS.

Job Summary: 

Operating from our client’s site, this position involves the safe operation of CAT Vac's. Operators should be mechanically inclined and physically fit to work in all kinds of weather. Preference will be given to candidates who possess previous experience in the industrial sector and those with previous wiggle wagon experience. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Operate CAT Vac safely and efficiently. 
  • Must be physically able to perform tasks and work in all weather. 
  • Completion of daily documentation including but not limited to daily logbooks, customer work orders, field level risk assessment, pre/post trip inspections. 
  • Follow instructions for tasks assigned by Dispatch or Supervisor. 
  • Complete daily housekeeping of assigned truck to ensure maintenance of company image. 
  • Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures. 
  • Maintain and operate all BME tools and equipment to the required standards and procedures. 
  • Ensure that all training is kept current. 
  • Follow all TDG and WHMIS standards and regulations. 
  • Seek out continuous improvement opportunities. 
  • Provide customer-focused services in all activities. 

Qualifications: 

  • Possess a minimum valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Previous CAT Vac, Wiggle wagon experience. (CAT 740,745)
  • Previous or related experience operating at least three of these types of units:  Water, Vacuum, Hydro, or Combo Vac units, considered an asset.
  • Mine drive experience. 
  • Eligible to work at Syncrude Site.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills. 
  • OSSA (or BSO/CSO) and CSTS certification.
  • Must successfully pass BME driver’s evaluation, D&A, and fit for duty pre-employment screening.
