Harvey Nash USA has been engaged to find a talented Motion Designer to support a leading global technology client. This role is ideal for a highly creative and detail-oriented motion designer with strong video production, visual storytelling, and post-production experience who can bring product moments and customer stories to life through polished motion content.
Job Title: Motion Designer
Location: Hybrid – Redmond, WA (3 days onsite per week)
Duration: 4+ Month Contract (Possible extension)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Create high-quality motion graphics, video edits, animations, and visual treatments for customer-facing, marketing, and social media experiences.
- Translate original files and product narratives into compelling motion and video assets.
- Edit raw footage, screen captures, product demos, animations, and visual assets into polished finished videos.
- Apply typography, transitions, motion effects, sound sync, color adjustments, pacing, and visual polish.
- Prepare video assets for multiple formats, channels, and aspect ratios.
- Manage file naming conventions, asset organization, version control, revisions, timelines, milestones, and delivery tracking.
- Partner with design, product, and business stakeholders to translate feedback into effective creative execution.
Must-Have Skills
- 2–4 years of professional motion design, video editing, or digital production experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects and/or Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Strong portfolio or reel demonstrating motion graphics, video editing, visual storytelling, and polished production execution.
- Experience creating video and motion assets for marketing, customer-facing, social, digital, or product-related content.
- Strong understanding of motion principles, typography, pacing, composition, visual hierarchy, and brand consistency.
- Experience managing file organization, naming conventions, version tracking, revisions, and production deliverables.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Experience with productivity tools, including Copilot, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Experience creating motion or video content for technology, productivity, SaaS, or enterprise customer scenarios.
- Familiarity with video accessibility considerations, including captions, readable text, contrast, and clear visual communication.
- Experience working in structured production environments with formal review cycles and stakeholder feedback.
Soft Skills
- Strong visual storytelling and creative judgment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Proactive communication around timelines, deliverables, risks, and blockers.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Motion Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Film/Video Production, Digital Media, Studio Art/Fine Art, or a related field is required.
Assessment Process
- Candidates will be required to complete a 30-minute motion design test before proceeding to the hard skills assessment/interview process. A strong motion design portfolio or reel is required for consideration.
A reasonable, good faith estimate of the hourly range for this position is $40–$44/hour on W2.
